So Sad, ‘Waiting To Exhale’ Actor Mourns Death Of Ex-Wife & Mother Of His Kids
Remember actor, Donald Faison? He’s one of those cats whose name you may not know, but because he’s made quite a name for himself throughout the years in acting, you remember his roles pretty well.
From his many roles in films like Waiting To Exhale, Sugar Hill, and Clueless, to the hit television show, Scrubs, Donald has been in the game for more than 20 years.
But, like all celebrities, Donald has a personal life when the cameras aren’t rolling. In fact, his personal life recently took an unexpected turn for the worse.
According to US Weekly, Donald Faison’s ex-wife, Lisa Askey Faison, recently passed away. The actor took to Instagram with a touching tribute to Lisa.
The photo captured their son, Dade, holding his mother’s hand. Donald included a heartfelt message to Lisa. He admitted although they didn’t always get along, she was always an amazing mother.
“My son Dade is very brave. Today he and his brother Kobe and sister Kaya lost their mother. Lisa Askey Faison,” Faison, 42, wrote.
“She and I never really saw eye to eye but one thing we did share was our love for our children. RIP Lisa. You raised three beautiful children into fine adults and I am forever grateful for that. May god bless your soul with light and love.”
He also expressed shock and disbelief over her untimely death, but admitted he knows she’s in a better place. “I just wanted to say thank you so much mom! You have been there for me when I needed you most,” Dade wrote on his own Instagram account Wednesday. “I can’t believe it has come to this but I know you are in a better place right now. I love you with all my heart and one day we shall meet again. You worked so hard and never gave up no matter how hard times got. R.I.P mom and until next time! #RestInPeace #BestMom #Love.”
Despite Lisa being part of Donald’s romantic past, it’s obvious her death impacted him greatly. The two divorced back in 2005 after four years of marriage…
For those who don’t know, Donald Faison married Cacee Cobb in 2012. Donald and Cacee, who is actually Jessica Simpson’s former assistant and close friend, began dating in 2006 before tying the knot in December of 2012. The couple has three children together, Rocco Faison, Kobe Faison, and Wilder Faison….
Donald also has three children from two previous relationships. His oldest son, Sean Faison-Ince, was born in 1999 (not pictured).
Then he and ex-wife, Lisa, welcomed fraternal twins in 1997- (son) Dade and (daughter) Kaya; and in 2001 they had son, Kobe. Needless to say, they have a beautiful family with six children…
