Man refuses to turn off his wife’s life support and prays for two months until she wakes up

A pregnant Indiana woman experienced health issues that necessitated an urgent c-section. Although she was in a coma for several months, her pious husband remained hopeful.

The birth of their third child together filled Autumn and Zack Carver with joy. The pair fell in love after meeting while they were youngsters. However, they were unprepared for the difficult chapter that would begin in 2021.

Zack and Autumn both became ill in the eighth month of Autumn’s pregnancy. The loving mother gave birth to her son Huxley while she was in the hospital. While his mother battled for her life in the intensive care unit, the boy was healthy and content.

One of his worst days ever
What was supposed to be one of the couple’s happiest days ever ended up being the complete opposite. The worst day of his life, Zack said. Autumn’s primary care physician doubted that she would make it through the trauma.

The doctor advised Zack to turn off the equipment and let Autumn pass away gently after two months on life support. Zack, though, persisted in holding onto the hope that his wife would fully recover. Every minute of the day, he prayed for her, and he had an army of internet prayer warriors believing in God for a miracle. They had faith even though there was little hope of them surviving.

The Husband’s Request
“I don’t know life without her”, Zack exclaimed, as he struggled to envision the world without Autumn. He made a specific request to the physicians since he was devastated that his wife hadn’t gotten to hold her new newborn boy.

So that Autumn might see and hold the newborn Huxley, he asked that they get her out of a sedated state. He begged the medical staff to intervene because he was aware that it might be the first and final time she did this. The parent was given a priceless opportunity to spend time with her beloved child once they agreed.

The Memorable Meeting
The event left a lasting impression on everyone and meant the world to the ill mother. One of Zack’s prayers had been granted with the special meeting. The pleased father remembered:

“Her parents, one of her best friends, and many nurses and doctors witnessed the special moment. I don’t know if there was a dry eye in the area. What an amazing day.”

Autumn’s Long Process of Recovery
The mother was still in trouble. Lung transplantation was recommended by doctors as a potential treatment to speed Autumn’s rehabilitation, but Zack first sought advice from another medical expert. He was still convinced that his wife will recover magically.

The thoracic surgeon thankfully did not believe that the mother required a transplant. The husband revealed:

“[The doctor] came in and said, ‘you don’t need a lung transplant. You’re going to be fine.’ It was super good news. We embraced in a hug and thanked God and the doctor.”Everyone marveled as Autumn at last began to show progress. Despite her slow improvement, Zack was confident she would be fine.

The Experience Changed Them
In December of 2021, after having been in the hospital for a total of three months, Autumn was given the green light to return home. She had become a different person. Zack shared some exciting news with his loved ones and friends. He remarked that:

“Such a happy, emotional, overwhelming day. I had to step back many times and look at all the greatness. We surprised our daughters. I think they were in shock. Neither of them could talk or react.”

A huge number of people went by the residence of the family to show their support for the courageous wife and mother. The pair was overcome with emotion as they expressed their gratitude to everyone for their never-ending love and prayers.

A Message from Autumn
The Carver family continued to be grateful for the gift of life, and Autumn revealed that her daughter had confided in her that she now had faith in miraculous occurrences. In addition, the mother stated:

“Every day is a gift. Tell people you love them and give lots of hugs. It can just all change so quickly and you don’t want to leave anything unsaid.”

Additionally, Zack revealed that he began praying every night with his children, something he had never done before.
