In the wake of his numerous controversies, Ye announced that Donda Academy would be shutting its doors. Late Wednesday, the school’s principal, Jason Angell, sent an email to the parents of students stating that “at the discretion of our founder,
Donda Academy will close for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year effective suddenly.” Just hours later, a parent sent another email inviting students back to Donda Academy. “Join us tomorrow morning in worship for the back of Donda Academy,” read the message.
“With the help of our parents and community, we are back and returning with a vengeance!” Although, the school’s future still unclear.
Some of the faculty has allegedly been quitting in protest of Kanye’s anti-Semitic rants, his false assertions about George Floyd’s passing, and his controversial “White Lives Matter” shirt.
