Kendall Jenner is slammed for allegedly photoshopping her waist in social media posts

Kendall Jenner has been blasted by fans on social media after they claimed she has been photoshopping her waist in her social media posts, and argued that she’s promoting body insecurity in young women.

The 27-year-old model, 818 Tequila founder, and reality TV star has come under fire numerous times for editing her images, as well as her famous sisters.

A significant amount of criticism was raised when the oldest Jenner daughter modeled for half-sister Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS lingerie and loungewear range. The photoshoot saw several of the sisters dressed in skimpy red bikinis, standing on a podium in front of a baby pink PVC curtain.

At the time, fans criticized the model for photoshopping her waist to appear smaller, despite promotional images looking slightly different. Popular Instagram account Problematic Fame – which highlights celebrity photoshop fails to promote realistic beauty standards – pointed out the difference in Kendall’s body in several different images.

“[Kendall] is posing in both, yet one is clearly photoshopped.

“No one’s belly button is just a tiny slit, nobody has a completely flat stomach 24/7. Everyone is gorgeous just as they are. This ridiculous photoshop needs to stop,” the account wrote.

“This photo is very photoshopped. Kendall is obviously very gorgeous but these are not her real proportions, nor are they anybody’s. Please don’t compare yourself to heavily edited images. Even Kendall doesn’t look like this [in real life],” the account continued.

“The smoothing around the bikini line is ridiculous. Nobody looks like that. Gals have lines, razor bumps, discoloration etc. Nobody is completely smooth down there,” Problematic Fame added in another post.

As a result of the alleged photoshopping, many netizens have taken to social media to voice their frustrations at celebrity beauty standards.

“It’s not body shaming to tell ppl that kendall is photoshopped in those pictures, like yes she is sexy but she also…quite literally doesn’t look like that [in real life’. no one is built naturally that way but giving young teenage girls the impression kendall does is so harmful,” someone tweeted.

Adding in a separate tweet: “There’s nothing wrong w photoshopping ur images or getting plastic surgery if ur upfront n honest that it is not what you actually look like. it’s not body shaming thin pretty girls who r already the beauty standard to remind women no one is [for real] built that way.”

“Kendall Jenner is gorgeous. Of course she is. But she’s also worth millions & has endless access to personal trainers, chefs, cosmetic procedures and photoshop Instagram isn’t real. And I know firsthand how inadequate social media can make us feel. Please be kind to yourself,” another person chimed in.

Kendall herself has previously spoken out about body positivity, after someone tweeted: “i got 99 problems and looking like kendall jenner would solve all of them.”

The model replied: “i am an extremely lucky girl. appreciative of all that i have. but i want you to know i have bad days too and that i hear you! you are beautiful just the way you are!!! it’s not always as perfect as it may seem.”

With global celebrities amassing millions of followers – many of them young and impressionable – it’s no wonder they are being blasted for promoting unrealistic body standards.
