Georgia Mother Arrested For Kil’ling Her Child, Leaving Other Child In Apartment Before Setting Complex On Fire Day Before Thanksgiving

Atlanta authorities say a 27-year-old mom is behind an apartment fi’re that left residents homeless. Nicole Jackson reported to kil’ling her 4-year-old daughter and leaving her another daughter in her apartment before starting a catastrophic fi’re on Nov. 23,
a source said to Fox 5 Atlanta. The East Point P’olice Department authenticate one of her kid passed away and another was in’jured in the fi’re. Both the East Point Fire Department and East Point Police Department investigated the in’cident.
The fi’re was set at Polaris East Point Apartments, an 8-unit complex near Washington Road. It spread to various units and forced residents to evacuate. Officials found the body of a 4-year-old girl in an upper apartment and a 2nd young girl was transported to the hospital with
f’ire-related injuries. Officials told to the building is a complete loss, and residents were left homeless before the holiday. Nicole Jackson was arrested on Thanksgiving Day. A bystander, Ricardo Tolbert, told he was able to rescue one of the kid, and she was taken to the hospital.
He told 11Alive he at’tempt to go back inside for the other girl and their mom, but the officials later authenticate that the kid had passed away. “It was during the search and re’scue phase that the body of the little girl was was found in one of the upper units,”
Told Renita Shelton with East Point Fi’re. The whereabouts of the mom had still been not clear, until po’lice confirmed Saturday her a*rest in the connection to the fire. Records show that Jackson was scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. first appearance at the Fulton County p*ison,
although she waived that appearance. Documents show that no bond was set. Police are expected to give an update in the observation in a press conference on Monday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m. Investigators are remain working to piece together what took place
in the moments leading up to Jackson reportedly setting the fire, which displaced 7 other families. The Fulton Medical Examiner’s Office has not disclose the name of the kid who di’ed.
“I’m happy I was there and able to save that kid’s life but I wish I could have been there prior perhaps I could have saved everybody’s life,” Tolbert told.
