Daejhanae Jackson Arrested For Taking The Life Of Shanquella Robinson, Currently Held In Federal Custody

Justice for Shanquella Robinson seems like it right around the corner. According to Instagram account that appears to be Shanquella Robinson’s mother, Daejhane Jackson has been taken into custody by Interpol agents, after a Control Judge issued a warrant.
According to her Instagram post, Daejhanae is being held in federal custody and waiting to be extradited to Mexico to be charged. Mexico Investigative Journalist Gerardo Zuniga also revealed this information while appearing on The North Carolina Beat yesterday.
Zuniga does not speak English, so a translator was present. “I was working in a meeting with a couple of my colleagues when I heard the news Daejhanae Jackson was arrested,” the reporter stated. Gerardo Zuniga works as an investigative reporter in Los Cabos for MetropoliMx.
Gerardo Zuniga was one of the first reporters to break Shanquella Robinson’s story. Within the last two weeks, Shanquella Robinson’s story has garnered national coverage on CBS, ABC, Good Morning America, Buzzfeed, and other national outlets.
Additionally, celebrities and influencers have helped bring awareness to Shanquella’s story along with Black Twitter. Shanquella’s mother, Sallamondra, has credited Black Twitter for keeping her daughter’s story alive.
Daejhanae Jackson being taken into custody is good news for the family as they seek justice. However, many social media users believe one person being held accountable is not enough and call for everyone to be held liable. “Now let’s work on getting arrest warrants for everyone else that was there,” one person stated.
Although Daejhanae is the only individual taken into custody, many believe it’s only a matter of time before she begins talking and exposing others. After the incident, Sallamondra claims each friend visited her and told a different story about what happened.
According to Sallamondra, Shanquella went to college with the individuals on the trip and had known them for five to seven years. Sallamondra also revealed Shanquella’s best friend, Khalil Cook, was also present during the trip. Following the trip, Khalil visited Sallamondra daily until the autopsy report came out. Following its release, she never heard from him again.
Shanquella Robinson’s Family Gofundme campaign is currently at $392,000; only $3,000 away from its current goal of $395,000. While speaking to Roland Martin, Shanquella’s mother confirmed the funds will be used to get the family to and from Mexico, legal fees, hotels, and overall getting justice for her daughter. She also thanked everyone who donated.
After the Cabo6 returned to the United States, Sallamondra says each friend visited her and told a different story about what happened. According to Sallamondra, Shanquella went to college with the individuals on the trip and had known them for five to seven years. Sallamondra also revealed Shanquella’s best friend, Khalil Cook, was also present during the trip.
Khalil Cook was very close with the family, and even participated in family trips. “Khalil Cook used to come to our house and go on family trips with us. He was suppose to be her best, the mother stated.” Following the trip, Khalil visited Sallamondra daily until the autopsy report came out. Following its release, she never heard from him again.
Now that Daejhanae has been apprehended, Shanquella’s family will get the justice they deserve. It’s only a matter of time before we find out if anyone else will be held accountable.
